Quiltin' Fool

I have been putting together the top of my sisters gigantic queen quilt for her wedding present. My grandmother and I went and picked out some fabric to make her a quilt for when she got married, long before she was engagged. Yet, somehow I am still probably not going to make it in time for the wedding. It has turned out to be a much bigger project than I anticipated. But here is the top ready to be hand quilted. I have a hard time finding time to quilt and ignore this little guy, how could you. And by the time my boys are in bed I am spent. So I usually don't sew to much at night.

I am quite happy that I accomplished this much. I love the bright colors against the the black. I did it all with out a pattern. I dreamed it up all on my own.

Mommy wow!

I don't know why I remember the jingle to the pull ups commercial so well or why it sticks in my head. But whenever Gavin wears them, I have to sing the song in my head. I'm a big kid now! Gavin has been potty trained for quite some time now and he is learning to not need them at night either so eventually I can be rid of the pull up and the silly song too.

Bees' Game

Gavin has been working to earn more marbles in his Bee's jar to go to another game. He filed the entire jar with goodness in no time. He was so excited he was asking me what else he could do to earn marbles. It was all worth it too. He meet the Bee and wanted to follow him as he surfed the crowd. It was a cool evening and it only sprinkled for a little while. It was quite enjoyable for all of us.

A little cloudy and cool, just right for a ball game! (Photo by Gavin)

"I like the game, I do, I just like the goodies that go with it better"

"What, mom I'm trying to watch the game here."

"You're my hero, can I get your autograph!"

As always Gavin make friend everywhere we go. The ladies behind us thought Gavin was funny. One of the ladies behind us had bright red streaks in her hair. So naturally Gavin asked her if that was her favorite color. I explained his idea that everyone wears there favorite color. So they convinved him that he needs to dye his hair green. He is still not sure what dye is but he still asks me if he can dye his hair green. Maybe I will have to let him for Halloween this year.

Busy like Dad

We are so ready for Jason to be done with school. It is his last week and weekend of school. He is super busy with finishing up this week so we decided to keep busy too.

Gavin wanted to make a paint apron like Joe's on Blue's clues.

He picked out Green letters and some awesome puff paint at Micheal's craft store.

The finished product.

Gavin loves to help me make treats. So we made dad some cookies to suprise him with after he got back form his last class.

Gavin had to go to bed before dad got home. He was sad so he had some cookies before he went to bed. The next day after Jason got home from his final we yelled congratulations and surprised him with the baked by Gavin peanut butter blossom goodness! Yea! We are so glad daddy did it. We love and appreciate him so much. On to brighter weekends!

Book Fair at Wheeler Farms

We went to a book fair at Wheeler Farms. We enjoyed walking around the farm, checking out new books and reading programs that Gavin is too young for. We meet the Jazz bear, that Gavin and Owen were not to fond of. I gotta admit up close and personal he is kinda creepy. In the main barn there was a wonderful story teller, Linda Gordon, from Chigago. And we headed home just in time to miss the down poor of rain.

Model Shoot

Gavin adores "his" Mo-ped helmet. He wears it in the car often and even into stores while we run errands. One afternoon while baby Owen was napping we had a photo shoot. Many people have told me that Gavin could model. However he rarley lets me take pictures of him...willingly. We had fun taking pictures and he was cracking me up with all of his differnt posses.

An Unusually Rainy June

It has been so rainy so far this summer. So we took advantage of a blissful sunny day. We were outside for hours. We love our little park that is right next to our house. Here's Gavin showing off his skills. He is really good at cimbing up the slides now. Little Owen loves to play outside and I just can't resist kissing him he is so soft and loveable. Gavin and Owen like to play together in this tunnel. Owen especially love Gavin's shoes. "Watch this Mom." "Huh... Who Me?"

Gavin what a cute kid. And watch as he knocks me over at the end of the slide.
